The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is set to arrive this summer. Samsung accidentally confirmed the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 names online via a new Samsung Internet Browser listing. We expect to see these phones at Samsung’s July event in New York.

Much Thinner Design with Better Hinge

The biggest change is how thin the new phone will be. Leaks reveal that Samsung has adopted an “extremely slim” hinge, so subtle that the closed Fold 7 may look like a regular bar-style phone from the front. When you unfold it, the phone will be just 3.9 to 4.54 mm thick: that’s 30% thinner than the current model and the thinnest foldable phone ever made.

The new hinge also reduces the gap between the two halves when closed, making the phone feel more solid and look cleaner.

Bigger Screens for Better Use

Both screens are getting bigger. The main folding screen grows from 7.6 inches to 8.0 inches, while the front cover screen increases to about 6.5 inches. These are the same sizes as Samsung’s China-only Special Edition model.

Both screens will 120Hz refresh rates for smooth scrolling and Samsung’s ProScaler technology to make content look sharper.

Powerful New Processor

The Z Fold 7 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, the same processor found in Samsung’s Galaxy S25 phones. It comes standard with 12GB of RAM, while the top model may offer a 16GB option. This configuration ensures faster app loading, better multitasking, and enhanced AI capabilities. To prevent overheating during heavy use, Samsung has included a larger cooling system. Storage options remain the same as last year, with choices of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

Much Better Cameras: A 200 MP primary came !

Samsung appears ready to replace the long-standing 50 MP sensor with a 200 MP main camera akin to the S25 Ultra’s, promising dramatic clarity and zoom performance on a foldable device.

The under-display selfie camera should also receive a resolution and quality boost over the Fold 6’s 4 MP unit, addressing a common pain point for video calls and hidden-camera shots.

Secondary optics are expected to remain a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom.

Stronger Build Quality

Samsung is replacing the glass back with titanium, making the phone lighter but stronger. The new hinge and screen materials should also make the folding crease less visible and help the phone last longer with repeated folding.

The phone should also be more resistant to dust and water, though Samsung hasn’t confirmed the exact protection level yet.

New Software Features

The Z Fold 7 will come with One UI 8 based on Android 16, making it Samsung’s first mid-year flagship to ship with the latest software.

New features include:

  • Enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities
  • Now Bar sidebar for quick access
  • Now Brief summary widget
  • Auracast audio sharing to stream sound to multiple devices
  • Improved Quick Share file sharing
  • Better DeX mode for desktop-like productivity

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 brings real change to foldable phones. It delivers a thin body and a top camera. It will ship with One UI 8 for a fresh experience.
