We already discussed a couple of weeks ago that OnePlus 3 and 3T will get the official Android 9 Pie update and later on both the devices received Pie beta update in China over HydrogenOS. Now, OxygenOS 9 based on Android Pie Beta and the latest April 2019 Security Patch also.
However, as this is a Pie Community Build any OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T can this. But it won’t be available via OTA. You need to and install it manually. Those who will and install this Beta ROM will get official stable OTA automatically.
The latest Android Pie brings all the goodies like Digital Wellbeing, Adaptive Battery & Brightness, App Slices, App Timer, Recent UI< Navigation Swipe Gesture, New Volume Slider, and more. It also enhances system security and fluid performance than the Android Oreo.

Steps to update Pie Beta Build (For stable version 181206)
- the file from the link provided above for your device model.
- Move the ed file to the internal storage (root folder) via the File Manager.
- Open device Settings > go to System update > tap on the top-right gear icon > choose for Local update.
- Tap on the ed file to start the installing process and wait until the device restarts.
- You’re done.
Recovery Method:
- Switch off the device > Press and hold the Power + Volume Up key together until the device enters into the Fastboot Mode.
- Navigate to Recovery option using Volume and Power button > Choose the English language > Install from Internal storage > Select the ed zip file > Select Yes.
- Wait for the complete installation process > Reboot your device.
